“I’m just a hopeless romantic.  I thought we could recreate the date.”
“Wouldn’t exactly call it a date.  We ended the night in the bathroom.”

Summer TV Love ♥ (Updated)

I thought I’d make a list of the shows I’ll be (or already are) watching during the spring/summer season in case anyone wants to chat about them or know what I might be gif-ifying in the near future.

I just now noticed how many reality cooking shows I watch, which is kind of weird because I’m a vegetarian and wouldn’t eat 95% of what the contestants cook, but whatever.  I’m cool with it.

If you make a list of what you are/will be watching this season, let me know and I’d love to check it out!  The new shows are subject to change, depending on what I think of the first few episodes.  So, without further ado, here is my list:

“Do you have any idea how much I love you?”

(Ezra Fitz, Pretty Little Liars, 2x24, If These Dolls Could Talk)

“This can’t be true.”
“It is.  Really.  I love him.”

(Pretty Little Liars, 2x14, Through Many Dangers, Toils And Snares)

p.s.  My first gif ever because it was just asking to be made.

I love this week.  Why?  New episodes of TV shows!

Pretty Little Liars wins the award for my first new episode of TV in 2012 and I’m honouring it with a bit of a recap/review of the episode … mostly the Aria/Ezra bits, with a few other thoughts thrown in.  This same post is also on my LJ.

Overall, I was really into the new episode.  I will admit that for the first part of the episode I was like, huh, did the show get new writers or something because the girls seem really out of character.  Then, I felt really stupid when I found out that it was all part of their plan.

After for the time lapse, I don’t know what I was expecting.  I do know, though, that I wasn’t expecting the show to pick up a month later.  I really just need to get to a place where I can accept that the timeline of this show doesn’t make sense.  At all.

Okay, on to the Aria/Ezra scenes.

Aria, Ezra, and Mike (The Sidewalk):

Apparently I missed out on the part where Aria and Ezra broke up.  When we last left them, everything seemed good, relatively speaking … I mean, except for the part where Ella thought Ezra was dating Spencer … and Jackie was threatening to out their relationship.  I’m sure you know what I mean, though.  In 2x10, they had agreed that they were going to tell her parents about them and in 2x12 he came to the police station.  I guess this break up happened during the time jump.

Because I feel like it needs to be said, they are so cute when they talk about books.

Maybe it’s his B&E badass past, but I thought Mike was going to tell Aria to frak off when Aria asked him to throw away her coffee cup.

So, Ezra seems to have gone to this really emo, brooding, angst-y place since their break up:

Aria:  How are you?
Ezra:  Numb.

This was followed up with:

Aria:  The trouble with the police … I can’t let anything bad happen to you.
Ezra:  Aria, something bad has happened.  You won’t let me see you.

I’ve noticed that Aria and Ezra seem to go through these shifts every few episodes where one of them seems to be in control of their relationship and its future.  It’s obviously Aria’s turn to be in the driver’s seat.

Ella and Spencer (The Classroom):

In other personality transplants, we have an especially cold Ella giving the stink eye to Spencer after handing in her extra credit assignment.  I guess a month wasn’t enough time for her to get over the thought of Spencer and Ezra “dating.”  That thought made my Ezria shipping heart a bit nervous.

Aria and Hanna (The Hallway):

I liked seeing Aria and Hanna have a (tiny) conversation about Ezra.

Ezra and Bryon (The Office):

Let’s start this off with random observations and questions:

Okay, seriously, what English professor has a frakkin’ guitar sitting in their (seriously massive) office?  Also, did we know that Ezra played the guitar?

Also, I loved Ezra’s thermos.  I’ve got to hunt one down.

I liked the ominous foreshadowing of what Byron said.  I was like, shiz is going to go down!

Aria and Jackie (The Office):

Jackie, why such a bitca?  You are horrible.  Go away.  Forever.

Aria and Ezra (The Office):

Yes, Ezra, you should’ve told Ella about you and Aria.  Now it’s time to make it happen, captain.

Aria, Ezra, Ella, Byron, and Mike (The House):

I liked the whole awkward silence that started the scene and then Ezra going right into the “I’m in love with your daughter” line followed closely by another awkward silence.

That’s how we rip of the bandaid, folks.

I think Byron’s face said it best here:  Whaaaaaa?

I’d like to start taking bets on how long Aria and Ezra could’ve kept their relationship a secret from her parents if Jackie wasn’t around.  I’m going to go with forever because seriously, they had no idea about them.  No idea!  Why weren’t my parents ever like this?

I also love that even after Ezra has told Aria’s parents that he’s in love with her, they somehow didn’t connect the dots that they were dating.  When Ella was like, “What started?” my mind was like, “when they started taking watercolour classes.”  Come on now, when they started dating, Ella.  Keep up, now.

Cue Ella’s shocked face, now just catching on:

When Ella asks, “This was going on when you were her teacher?” I was like, well, would it have been okay if it didn’t happen until after?

Combined between Ella and Byron, they must’ve started saying something like, “If this is true … ” about half a dozen times.  It seemed like a bit of an empty threat, though, because they never followed it up with anything.

Ezra took that punch from Mike like a man.  Way to be, Ezra.

At this point, I think they’ll get over it.  Ella is already “supposing.”

Byron and Ezra just need to get wasted together and man hug it out.

Ezra and Jackie (The Office):

“Bad idea to wake a sleepwalker.”  I have no idea what that means, but I liked it.

Is it safe to say that Jackie has served her role and she’ll go away now?  Please?
